Rocco Giovanni is a model and gay porn film actor who was born in Canton, Ohio on January 19th, 1980.
He shares a hometown with shock-rocker Marilyn Manson, and a birthday with tragic writer Edgar Allan Poe.
It seems Rocco might just have been destined to be dark.
Rocco's early life was spent training in classical ballet, jazz and tap dance styles.
In 1998 a knee injury ended his professional dance career
which led him to stripping and go-go dancing as a chance to remain active on stage.
He sites this as his longest running career as he has been a stripper for over 11 years.
During this time Rocco would also choreograph for local drag queens.
His choreography has won several State awards and recently went to U S of A at Large Nationals.
He has recently returned to the world of legitimate dancing with guest appearances
in a local Nutcracker and as a dancer and choreographer for a local Cystic Fibrosis benefit concert.
In 2001 Rocco moved to Columbus, Ohio and began study in Krav Maga,
the Israeli Defense Force's hand to hand combat and self defense form,
and later earned certification as a Level 3, 5 being considered "black belt" status, student.
He also went on to pursue active study in Ninjutsu, Capoeria, Arnis, Ta'i Chi, and Wu Shu.
Due to his martial arts training Rocco has become proficient in the use of several classical weapons
as well as the use of bull whips and is trained in using various small fire arms.
At times Rocco has used various swords, and of course the bull whip, during stage performances.
In the summer of 2008 Rocco had the privilege of working with award-winning photographer Justin Monroe.
Several of the shots would appear in the February 2009 issue of the German Magazine Manner
in a six page editorial titled "Sunday Service".
In the fall of 2008 he received a call from Jake Dekard at Raging Stallion Studios
to do a scene for the sequel to the award winning film "Ink Storm" titled "Ink Stain".
His scene partner for his first major studio production would be none other
than 2009 Raging Stallion Man of the Year and multiple adult film award winner, the much lauded Ricky Sinz.
One of the topics in the reviews of this film was that, at press time, Rocco had hair that measured 10 inches in length.
In the spring of 2009 Rocco cut off, what would be 11 and a half inches of hair,
and donated it to a charity that constructs wigs for children undergoing treatment for cancer.
Rocco has worked since 1998, when he turned 18, to break into the adult film industry
often being told his tattoos led him to have to extreme a look,
a look not fitting in with the blond twinks or cookie cutter muscle men.
Oddly it was those tattoos that would lead to him being asked to model for Justin Monroe,
and later to the aforementioned "Ink Stain".
Rocco has said of his extreme look and its possible hindrance on
"porn stardom" that "people have said it's too extreme.
I just remind them that Satan was Heaven's most extreme and most beautiful angel.
I'll find my place."
Rocco, who in his day to day life is a group fitness instructor, is also a certified yoga and Pilates instructor.
He sports 46 tattoos at press time, 6 of which are of pop icon Madonna.
He also states that charity is the first priority in his life and donates
10% of all income made from his adult film work towards Cystic Fibrosis research.
(Rocco does have a tattoo that is a tribute to Cystic Fibrosis on his left arm.)
